Tom Foutz
Tom Foutz is president and co-founder of ADR inc. A full-time neutral since 1993,
he has mediated over 2,500 matters covering a wide range of cases including personal
injury, maritime, product liability, medical malpractice, business and commercial
disputes, employment matters, and hurricane claims.
Mr. Foutz also conducts jury focus groups and mock trials,
chairs medical review
panels, and offers ADR-related seminars.
Mr. Foutz began his legal career in law school as a clerk for the Honorable Lansing
L. Mitchell, United States District Judge, Eastern District of Louisiana. Following
graduation, he specialized in litigation, first at Jones Walker and later with Jack
Martzell and Wendell Gauthier.
An AV-rated attorney, Mr. Foutz has been selected by
fellow attorneys and mediators for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America
in alternative dispute
resolution.
A former teacher and college administrator, Mr. Foutz has taught as an adjunct professor
at Loyola Law School (Mediation and Arbitration) and Tulane University School of
Law (Trial Advocacy).
Mr. Foutz graduated from Tulane University School of Law in 1980, where he was a
member of the Tulane Law Review. He was a recipient of
the Rittenberg- Weinstein Law Review Award, presented to the member with the most published
material of high quality.
